Update

Lexie has the flu! I guess all we can do is ride it out. Poor girl. Luckily they have a three day weekend due to Martin Luther King day so hopefully she will be well by Tues.

What a week!

Oh my word...that's all I can say. This week has been miserable. It all started Monday night. Alexa woke me up at midnight crying because her head hurt. She also had a fever...I gave her motrin and let her sleep on the floor in our bedroom. I didn't get a lick of sleep until 3:30ish...she kept moaning and crying every 15 minutes or so because her head hurt. So I got her into the doctor at 2:00. I hate it that our drs office is in Cumberland! But we love our dr. Unfortunately we couldn't see him and she did not like that. They said her one ear was a little red, they did a strep test which was normal and gave her an antibiotic.

Wednesday...Riley wakes up with a fever and saying her head hurt. I could get her in at 4:15, before I left she throws up twice. We get to the drs office and I'm standing there checking her in, she is sitting on the counter in front of me and she throws up allllll over me. It was awful! Her coat and mine were covered. Luckily Jen works there and let me borrow her coat to wrap around Riley. We get in to see the dr (again not our dr...getting frustrated). Diagnosis...two red ears and a red throat, put on antibiotic. This day I also start with a sore throat.

Thursday....Madisyn wakes up with a very low grade fever and sore throat. I was very tired all day. Make an appointment for Madisyn for Fri afternoon 3:00.

Friday....Madisyn wakes up fine...fever gone...she goes to school. BUT guess what Alexa's fever is back. Call drs office and change Madisyn's appt to Alexa. She was happy and so was I that Dr Root was available today. I start some productive coughing, very tired. Dan has Fridays off right now and volunteered to take Alexa to the dr. They are there now...waiting to hear what's going on with her. I a little worried she was saying that her legs hurt and her head. So tired of being sick!!!

We had a good weekend! It was nice and relaxing...which is a nice change after the holidays. Friday night there were no plans! We put the kids to bed and I curled up on the couch and watched a movie.
Saturday morning Dan took Madisyn to the High school for Dribblers club. I didn't think she would want to play basketball, but we asked her about it and she decided to give it a try and she had a great time! So that will be every Saturday morning through Feb.
I worked Saturday night and we were not busy at all! I stopped in to see Lis and they were just leaving to go shopping. So Clarissa, Vanessa, Alissa and I all went to the mall. Nobody bought anything, but we still had a good time! Then I came home to a nice clean house!!! I have such a wonderful husband!
Yesterday was church. We started a new book in Sunday school that I am looking forward to getting into. It's call When there's no burning bush. We had a fellowship meal...which means I don't have to cook!!! Yay! It's always fun to have more time to talk to people. Then yesterday afternoon Nate, Jackie and Derek came over. We played two new games that mom got...Settlers of Catan and Blokus. I love playing games! We really need to get more pizza places around here...at least ones open Sundays. I was disappointed to find out Brenneman's Store is closed again. It was nice having something that close. Deep Creek Pizza was closing as I called and Smileys is too expensive. So we called Straight 8's up at Hill top. They said they would deliver so we said we would meet them at Buckel's store and they would call us when they left...they didn't call for over an hour and a half. It was about 2 hours till we got our pizza. Fortunately it was pretty good! Oh well!!

I was just checking our calender and realized we have something every night this week! Dan's hours are cut back now...so he's working 4 10 hour days and has Fridays off. So I picked up a extra night at the casselman this week and am working Friday night.

2008!!! Wow. It's crazy how fast this past year went. I got to work last night...which was really nice. We were rather busy and I actually got to make some money. I also worked tonight and we were dead. I had a group of 22 at 3:00 when I got there and then I had a table of 8 at like 5ish. That's it!!! I left around 6:45. I was angry though when I cleared off the table from the 22. People really need to learn how to tip. When it all came down to it, they didn't even leave me 10%, which is just insulting really. They were the only table I had at the time so I was really right on top of their refills and extra bread and dessert....ugh!!! I did really well off my 8 though...actually the 8 gave me more than the 22 did!

Well last night is the first new years I can remember that we didn't have any plans (other than me working). I stopped on the way home and got a pizza from Hey's...Gary was really nice and gave me a free 2 liter bottle of pepsi! Then I just came home and watched Dick Clark's special in times square on TV with the girls. Watched the ball drop and went to bed. Madisyn made it till midnight, but Lexie fell asleep on the couch earlier and we put Riley to bed because she was soooo tired. It was all rather nice though and I really didn't mind not going anywhere.

Well the holidays are over now and it's back to all the regular stuff. School is supposed to start back up tommorrow, but the weather is really making me wonder if they will.
