Good gracious! This week has been insane. It all started Saturday morning when Dan went to the Doctor in McHenry for stomach pains. They sent him on to the emergency room because his white blood cell count was high. From there there was a CAT scan and it was determined that he had appendicitis. My sister took me up to the hospital and I made it just in time for them to take him from the ER to surgery. While in surgery they discovered that he also has a hernia. They couldn't fix it unfortunately during the same surgery as the appendix due to risk of infection. So we are probably looking at another surgery sometime in the near future.
He did really well and I brought him home Sunday. I through all this have a miserable cold. Which was also bad because Brad and Jess had their baby that very morning in the same hospital and I wanted to go see her sooo bad, but didn't want to risk getting any of them sick.
So Dan has been off work all week and unfortunately he chose yesterday to go to Oakland for a haircut. I had Derek and Brayden yesterday plus of course Riley is here. I get a phone call from Mom who was practically hysterical saying I had to come right away. I had no idea what was going on. I grabbed the kids and went up there as quick as I could. As soon as I opened the door I saw that there was blood all over the kitchen floor and Mom was standing over the sink. Here she tripped over the dog fence that they have between the kitchen and the living room. She smacked her face and her knee off the kitchen floor. I had no idea what I was going to do with 3 kids and mom. I made some phone calls for someone to keep the kids (Dan was on his way home but I wanted to leave ASAP) and couldn't get anyone at first. Then I got ahold of Mom-mom and pop-pop, I got mom in her car and loaded up the kids took them back to my house. As soon as pop-pop got there we left for the Emergency room (2nd time in one week!). Turns out her nose is broken and her knee is sprained. She discovered several more bumps, bruises and sore spots today. She was much better after getting some pain medication!
Hopefully there will be no more trips to the ER anytime soon!
